INDIBA® (448 kHz) Radiofrequency Therapy

INDIBA® is one of the most exciting tools I use in clinical practice because it’s comfortable, non-invasive, and genuinely easy for patients to tolerate. It’s a form of capacitive–resistive radiofrequency (CRET) delivered at an evidence-based frequency of 448 kHz, designed to support recovery by combining cellular bio-stimulationwith a safe, controllable thermal effect when needed.

Why it works so well alongside hands-on treatment and rehab

One of the biggest advantages of INDIBA is that it creates a real “window of opportunity” during a session. It can help increase circulation and deep tissue warmth, and those effects can continue after treatment, which means we can get more out of your session — whether that’s mobilisations, soft tissue work, stretching, or progressing the right exercise at the right time.

A simple way to understand the “cell effect”

A useful analogy is to think of INDIBA as giving your cells the right signal and energy environment to do what they’re built to do: repair and restore. The radiofrequency current interacts with tissue at a cellular level and is associated with activity within cell structures (organelles), including the mitochondria (your cells’ energy centres). This can trigger a protein signalling cascade and changes in messenger RNA (mRNA)expression — essentially, the “instructions” cells use to produce proteins involved in recovery. The overall aim is to support the cell with the conditions it needs to repair its self efficiently.

What we use it for

INDIBA is particularly useful when we want to support recovery in soft tissue and joint-related problems, including:

  • Persistent pain and stubborn inflammation

  • Tendon and ligament rehabilitation

  • Muscle injuries and recurrent tightness

  • Joint pain and stiffness(including degenerative change)

  • Pre- and post-operative rehab support

  • Long-standing or “overlapping” pain presentations, where progress has been slow with standard approaches

The key point

INDIBA isn’t used as a standalone “quick fix”. It’s a powerful accelerator when combined with skilled hands-on work and targeted rehab— helping you move more comfortably, progress sooner, and build more resilient, long-term outcomes.
